Carnegiea–an abbreviation for the saguaro’s scientific classification: Carnegiea Gigantea. Saguaros are indigenous only to our home, the Sonoran Desert, thus making it one of the most unique places on earth. Our mission is to emulate the saguaro in enhancing the Southwest’s unique qualities by creating a platform to amplify all of the unparalleled creative perspectives the desert has to offer. Carnegiea is a student based and student-run magazine that focuses on the input the young-adult mind has on the cultural identity of Tucson and the greater region of Southern Arizona.
